Magnum Engineering announced as finalist for Innovation Michigan Award
Magnum Engineering was announced as a finalist for an Innovation
Michigan Award in the Small Business category by Business Review.
Magnum Engineering worked with local, Michigan-based bowling centers to
develop and manufacture the only conversion system that allows bowling
center owners to upgrade CRT scoring system displays with off-the-shelf
LCD or projection monitor systems to provide a modern, up-to-date
environment for their customers.
The Evolution system (www.evolutionscoring.com) is the only non-OEM
digital scoring upgrade available to bowling centers. The product was
introduced in 2008 and resulted in more than $450,000 in sales. In
2009, the product is on track generate as much as $2 million as bowling
center operators across the country and around the world begin to take
advantage of the significant savings offered by this product. It is the
only system that promotes use of standard components, which allows
bowling centers to lower maintenance costs and down time. All parts of
the system are also made in the USA, with a majority of parts made in
Michigan, a state with one of the largest bowling populations in the
country.
Business Review selected the Innovation finalists based on uniqueness of
the innovation and entries were judged based on the outcome of the
innovation to date, including its effect on revenue, employee morale,
customers and company image. All finalists will be featured in a
special publication by Business Review July 22 and will showcase their
innovation at the July 28 Innovation Michigan Awards & Exposition,
5:30-9 p.m. where eight companies will be named winners at the end of
the evening.
